Central African Republic
Bintel acquired NationLink in the Central African Republic in 2007, defying a robustly competitive telecom market where several global players have a presence. Within a year of entering the local market, NationLink managed to achieve a five-fold increase in subscribers, thanks to significant network expansion and a relentless focus on service quality. Today, NationLink is positioned as a leading telecom player in RCA and commands a significant market share, a figure that is growing by the day.
Somaliland and Somalia
In 2012 Bintel acquired a 25% stake in NationLink Investment Somalia. NationLink Investment Somalia owns the majority share in the two operations of NationLink Somaliland and NationLink Somalia Mogadishu.
Gabon
Gabon is a highly liberalized mobile telephony market that hosts leading players in the mobile industry. In October 2009, Bintel successfully launched the fourth mobile operator in Gabon under the brand name "
Azur
". The license, acquired in early 2009, allows Bintel to offer customers in Gabon the latest voice and data services including high-speed data and videoconferencing.
